Dr Carinhas is an experienced General Practitioner with over 10 years of clinical experience within the NHS. During this time, she has supported women across all stages of life and developed a particular interest in women’s health and hormonal wellbeing.
She now offers private GP consultations with a specialist focus on women’s health, providing extended appointments in a calm and confidential setting.
As a GP with additional qualifications in women’s health, Dr Carinhas provides comprehensive assessment and management of perimenopause and menopause (with or without HRT), menstrual disorders, premenstrual syndrome, contraception, breastfeeding support, and wider hormonal health concerns.
Her NHS experience has given her broad exposure to complex and varied presentations. In private practice, she is able to dedicate additional time to explore symptoms in depth, consider lifestyle and psychosocial factors, and work collaboratively to develop individualised, evidence-based treatment plans aligned with NICE and British Menopause Society guidance.
Dr Carinhas qualified MBChB in 2013 from University of Dundee and subsequently obtained her MRCGP and Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG). She is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, the British Menopause Society, and the National Association for Premenstrual Syndrome.
Dr Carinhas recognises that many women benefit from having the time and space to fully explore their concerns. Her private practice offers extended consultations, creating space for thorough assessment, clear explanation, and collaborative decision-making. Her aim is to create a supportive clinical partnership, ensuring women feel informed, reassured and actively involved in their care.
Where appropriate, she works collaboratively with NHS GPs to enable continuity and shared care.
