Neurodevelopmental Assessments

Dr Mitchell is skilled at leading and concluding neurodevelopmental assessments for children and young people and has extensive experience of this both within an NHS and private setting. All neurodevelopmental assessments are tailored to a child's needs and specific family circumstances. In line with NICE guidelines, all assessments are completed face to face and incorporate reviews by a specialist CAMHS Occupational Therapist, specialist CAMHS Speech and Language Therapist and multi-agency working to gather information from colleagues in education, families and young people.

A comprehensive feedback neurodevelopmental report is provided alongside specialist recommendations and support strategies to enable families, parents and carers. If medication is recommended following an assessment, such as treatment for ADHD, then this can be provided via Dr Mitchell or our prescribing team. We work jointly with many GP's across Scotland delivering shared care when possible.
